The Barons Charter Trail

Recently voted by Lonely Planet as one of the top 10 cities to visit this year in the world, Salisbury (UK) is home to perhaps the best preserved copy of Magna Carta, and 2015 celebrates 800 years of its existence.

The discontented Barons of medieval England created a charter that attempted to impose laws on King John to limit his power, greed and authority.

The Great Charter of 1215 is the most celebrated document in English history and forms the foundation of liberty and the heart of the process that led to the rule of constitutional law.

The Barons Charter will include 25 life sized decorated medieval baron sculptures to be displayed as an art trail across the city, which will then be auctioned in October to raise money for The Trussell Trust, the UK’s leading poverty charity.
